Chess Arbiters Association Constitution (approved 28/07/05)

 

Objectives:-

a)                  Seeking ties with National Federations within the British Isles where we have sufficient members.

b)                 To encourage a high standard of arbiting in all chess events.

c)                  To maintain a register of recognised and qualified Arbiters.

d)                 To review and standardise the rules for various types of competition.

e)                  To provide members with information service concerning changes to the Laws of Chess and to competition rules, and their interpretation.

f)                  To provide a forum for discussion on matters concerning Arbiters.

g)                  To recruit and train prospective arbiters and recommend suitable candidates for appointment as national and/or international arbiters.

h)                 To co-operate with player organisations on matters of common interest.

 

Full membership is limited to persons recognised as a qualified arbiter by any National Chess Association within the British Isles that is affiliated to F.LD.E. Only these members are entitled to wear clothing bearing the CAA badge.

 

Associate Membership is open to any person or organisation having an interest in arbiting issues and whose application has been approved by the Executive Committee.

 

The secretary shall call a general meeting of all members once a year where the officials of the association shall be elected, an auditor shall be appointed and the fees for the forth-coming year shall be set.
